Top: in Super Mario Odyssey, if Mario stands on the tail of the Tail Tree in the Mushroom Kingdom, he will sit down, as he usually does if placed on a bench.
Bottom: this is a reference to the ending of Super Mario 3D Land, where Mario and Peach are shown sitting on the tail of the Tail Tree.

In Super Mario 64 DS, it is possible to pound signposts into the ground. An additional detail is the difference between the characters: while Yoshi, Mario and Luigi take two Ground Pounds to fully pound the signposts, Wario can do it in a single Ground Pound due to his greater weight.

Instructions on how to play the main theme for the NES version of Donkey Kong (also later repurposed as the beginning of the Donkey Kong Country main theme) on the Ocarina of Time inside The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, from the Brazilian Nintendo World magazine. The arrows on some notes indicate that the Control Stick should be held in that direction, which changes the pitch; same for “Z” meaning that Z should be held. The magazine also correctly identifies the composer of the piece as Shigeru Miyamoto; he composed the entire soundtrack for the Donkey Kong arcade.

Top: In Paper Mario: Color Splash, the top of Daffodil Peak contains a cardboard cutout of a yellow Toad with his face replaced with a circular hole.
Bottom: In Paper Mario: The Origami King, the plot of the yellow streamer area revolves around the villainous Hole Punch removing the faces of yellow Toads. The Toads with the removed faces look identical to the cardboard cutout from Paper Mario: Color Splash, which, considering Paper Mario: The Origami King contains other references to it, is likely a deliberate reference.

The hidden Deep Woods area in Super Mario Odyssey, accessed by falling off the side of the Wooded Kingdom, has no in-game map. Surprisingly, even the official guide for Super Mario Odyssey, as well as other printed and online guides, do not feature a map of the area, despite it being very large and containing many collectibles.
I have therefore decided to create the world’s first comprehensive map of the Deep Woods, containing every single gameplay-relevant object found within. More information on the creation of the map, and explanations of the symbols, can be found here at the Supper Mario Broth Patreon.
I sincerely hope my map can help some players navigate the Deep Woods and collect the items hidden in the area.
