A Super Mario variety blog.
Screenshots, photos, sprites, gifs, scans and more from all around the world of Super Mario Bros.

The cutscene for reaching 4th place or lower overall in Mario Kart 64 is slightly hard to get due to the scoring system, but it has the character being blown up. (Footage recorded by me in a N64 emulator.)
Swallowing a box as Yoshi in Super Mario 64 DS will give you a square egg. (Footage recorded by me in a DS emulator.)
Cutscene with Rawk Hawk and Bowser from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. (Footage recorded by me in a GC emulator.)
The Super Mario Club seen so often in the credits of Mario games is actually a Nintendo subsidiary dedicated to product testing and debugging of first party games. This is their logo and building, which they share with Intelligent Systems, known for developing Paper Mario. (Source)
Unused Yoshi’s Egg from Super Mario 64, from a point during development when Yoshi was supposed to be ridden in the game. (Source)
The intro animation from Yakuman DS, a Japan-only Mahjong game with Mario and friends. (Footage recorded by me using a DS emulator.)
Unused sprites from Yoshi’s Island. Clockwise from the top left: an unused plane transformation later abandoned for the helicopter, an alternate skiing Yoshi with a hat, a Dragon Coin that later became the Flower, an unused tree transformation, Baby Mario crawling around, an unused mushroom transformation, a more classic Nipper Plant, and Grinder Kong, who was supposed to throw barrels. In the prototype for Super Mario Bros. 2, the underground music was different from the final version, sounding much like the Super Mario Bros. 3 rendition. Watch out for the drums halfway through the song, they get more intense. (Source)
