In Super Mario Galaxy 2, the Whomp King’s hitbox does not behave correctly when he stands up, leading to him being able to defeat Mario or Luigi while they are descending from his back simply by standing up, as shown in the footage.

In Super Mario Maker 2, when playing as Link, his shield seemingly cannot be used while he is riding in a Goomba’s Shoe. However, this is only true on land. For an unknown reason, he can use his shield while riding the shoe underwater. This is not explained anywhere in the guides and is the only situational Goomba’s Shoe-related ability in the game.

In Super Mario 64, if an effect removes Mario’s cap while he has a cap power-up, like the Wing Cap, the cap will disappear when the power-up runs out. However, if Mario is in the middle of a conversation with an NPC at the time, the cap will remain for as long as Mario is on screen. Here, Mario’s cap is stolen by Klepto, but disappears only after the camera cuts away and back, creating the impression that it was stolen while the camera was not looking at Mario.

In Paper Mario: The Origami King, when Mario ascends the Sea Tower for the first time before beating the area’s boss, the outside sections of the tower feature Toads stuck to the wall, being held up with sticky tape. The Toads make distressed sounds when Mario passes them. The sounds are not actually sound effects being played individually (as voices are usually handled by the engine), but a music track in the game’s soundtrack, called “Troubled Toads”. Here is a loop of it in its entirety.

In Yoshi’s Island, whenever Yoshi eats a Fuzzy, his usual egg-laying animation will instead produce a cloud of gas. This cloud actually has a hitbox; if Yoshi is positioned in a precise way in front of an enemy during the animation, the gas will defeat the enemy.

In Super Mario World, if a yellow Koopa shell is picked up at the exact frame a Koopa Troopa enters it, a variety of glitched effects can occur. If the shell is flipped over with a Cape Spin attack, it will become an upside-down Rainbow Shell. Whenever this Rainbow Shell is stopped with another Cape Spin, it has a chance of turning a color that shells do not usually assume in the game, such as light blue or grey, as seen in the footage.

In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, when Mario obtains a Star, his regular jump is replaced with a somersaulting jump. If Mario is on top of a moving block at the moment the Star power runs out and he is in the middle of a somersault, Mario will be stuck on the block in a spinning state indefinitely as shown in the footage. Mario will be unable to free himself and the level must be exited or the timer run out to proceed.
