Top: in the beginning of Freezy Flake Galaxy in Mario Galaxy 2, there is a log cabin with a Star Bunny inside, to whom Mario can talk.
Middle: although the Star Bunny is clearly visible from outside through a window, the window is actually one-way, and moving the camera inside the cabin shows the Star Bunny looking at a solid wall.
Bottom: animation of the camera moving inside the cabin and showing the window disappearing.

Normally, whenever characters start walking in a certain direction in Super Paper Mario, they turns towards that direction if they are not already facing it. However, there is one exception where a character can be briefly made to walk backwards. On moving platforms, if Luigi faces in the direction of the platform’s movement and walks in the opposite direction slowly, he will walk backwards instead of turning first.

In Bubble Breeze Galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy, a shortcut exists that lets Mario skip the entire second half of the level. After arriving in the second area, simply backflip on top of the rocks surrounding it. Although it appears that Mario should slip off the rocks, there is actually an invisible floor above them that allows Mario to stand on it. From there, long jump towards the Star.

In the Japanese version of Super Mario Bros. 3, if Mario collects a Hammer Suit in Statue Mario form (seen here in Level 7-8), he will turn into a version of Hammer Mario with Statue Mario’s palette. Unfortunately, he will be unable to exit the room due to inheriting some properties of Statue Mario, including the inability to enter pipes. Thus, the only way to continue playing is to let Mario die by waiting until the timer runs out, restarting the level.

In Paper Mario, the battle system is programmed in such a way that positive attack modifiers apply to each individual instance of damage being dealt, even if an attack deals damage several times like Bow’s Smack move.
In the Crystal Palace, there are battles where Duplighosts appear alongside Red Magikoopas. If Mario’s current partner is Bow, the Duplighosts will turn into a copy of her. Then, if the Red Magikoopa raises the Duplighosts’ attack, they will be able to deal extremely high amounts of damage due to the modifier applying to each individual slap. Here, we can see the Duplighost dealing 6 damage per smack after 1 power-up, 10 after 2 power-ups, and 14 after three power-ups, making this the most powerful enemy attack in the game.
