During the localization process of Mario Superstar Baseball, the team names (which are in English even in the Japanese version of the game) were changed for the international release. The most prominent example is the change from “Waluigi Mistakes” in the original to the more graceful “Waluigi Mystiques”.

Other examples (Japanese on left, international on right) are provided. Note that “Catherin USA” is using Birdo’s Japanese name, Catherine, and is referencing the fact that the first Mario game Birdo appeared in was Super Mario Bros. 2, known as “Super Mario USA” in Japan.
