One of the sidequests in Donkey Kong Country 3 is returning a wrench to Björn, the bear that operates the upper chair lift in Razor Ridge. Normally, if the wrench is given to Björn immediately after approaching him with it, he will be grateful and let the Kongs use the chair lift for free.
However, if the option “Finders keepers, man!” is selected, Björn will become aggravated. When the wrench is returned later, he will announce that the chair lift costs 2 coins to ride; this is not a one-time fee, but is necessary to pay every single time the chair lift is used on that save file. In addition, he will continue to have an unfriendly attitude towards the Kongs indefinitely, calling them “naughty”.

The credits for Donkey Kong Country 3 classify all of the game’s characters into categories. The spiders from the Springin’ Spiders level, called Nids, are in the “Terrorfirma Tuff Guys” section that contains all ground enemies. However, Nids are not able to harm the Kongs, and their purpose is to provide platforms for the Kongs to proceed in the level. Thus, it would be more correct to classify them as Animal Buddies, like Clapper the Seal from Donkey Kong Country 2, than as enemies.

Left: official artwork of Brash the Bear from Donkey Kong Country 3. On his clothes, the word “Rarebare”, a pun on Rareware (later known as Rare), the developers of the game, and “bear”, is displayed.
Right: in the official guide for Donkey Kong Country 3, the artwork is mirrored and the text is changed from “Rarebare” to “Rare Bear”, possibly in an attempt to make the pun clearer.

In the promotional trailer for Donkey Kong Country 3 shown at E3 1996, a scene in Funky’s Rentals can be seen. Funky appears to be using his surfing animation from Donkey Kong Country 2. Looking closely, however, a difference from the original sprite can be seen: Funky’s surfboard is missing, resulting in him surfing on air. (Source)
Left: a brief view of the beta overworld of Donkey Kong Country 3 seen in the E3 1996 trailer.
Right: the same part of the overworld from the finished game. Note that Mekanos (the island in the top left of each image) seems to not contain a factory in the beta version, meaning the Mekanos world was either absent or was moved to that location from elsewhere before release.
