In Donkey Kong Country Returns, the first three bananas in Level 6-6, Crumble Canyon, exhibit irregular behavior as they do not rotate. In this footage, Donkey Kong first looks at the last of the non-rotating bananas, before continuing in the level to the first properly rotating bananas. (Footage recorded by me from a Wii emulator.)
Images of the Tiki Tak Tribe that appear whenever you lose a life in Donkey Kong Country Returns.
In Level 5-8 of Donkey Kong Country Returns, Donkey Kong is being chased through the level by an avalanche of small spider-like enemies. Zooming in on the enemies, we can see that they have cartoonish eyes that are very hard to see during normal gameplay.
In Donkey Kong Country Returns, one of Donkey Kong’s idle animations is taking out a Nintendo DS and playing it. Viewing Donkey Kong’s model from another angle, we can see that the Nintendo DS is not turned on.
All nine map screen themes from Donkey Kong Country Returns playing simultaneously.
In Donkey Kong Country Returns, the “freelook” mode on the world map does not let the player move the camera low enough to see the horizon. By forcibly moving the camera within the emulator, we can see that a horizon with a skybox is in fact modeled for this scene.
In Donkey Kong Country Returns, the statue of DK at the end of Level 3-1 is actually just a cutout from a piece of concept art.
