In Super Mario RPG, a room inside Booster Tower contains a spot behind a curtain that turns Mario into his Super Mario Bros. sprite upon entering. Removing the foreground layer, we can see that the sprite is already present from the moment the room loads, and is activated by Mario merging with it.
