Artwork of Che Guevara as Mario from an article about online gaming in the Brazilian EGM magazine. Although the rest of the magazine is in Portuguese, the accompanying quote is in Spanish, due to Che Guevara having spoken Spanish himself. It translates to “You have to play online, but without ever losing the connection”.

In Super Mario Galaxy 2, there is a single value that acts as a multiplier for the range of every special effect in the game. In-game, it only ever uses the values 1 for regular effects and 0 to turn them off; however, it acts correctly when the code is modified to set it to other values, as well. Here, it is set to a large value, resulting in the dust clouds from Yoshi running around to be both large and fly very far. In the background, an Octoomba is seen with an antenna that glows much stronger than usual, showing this change affects all special effects.
In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, the chapter start screens have a dotted background. If the camera is zoomed out during these, it is revealed that the text and curtains are inside an enormous ten-pointed star. This star is actually the same one used for the visual effect when Mario obtains items and badges, only with the dot fill being a different color.
The cages Petey Piranha holds in Super Smash Bros. Brawl have details on them that are too small to be seen during regular gameplay.
-The back of the top spike of the cages has a Chain Chomp decoration.
-The top of the inside of the cages has drawings of Bloopers and Bob-ombs.
-The bottom of the cages is decorated with vines and various Piranha Plant sprites from the Super Mario All-Stars version of Super Mario Bros. 3.
-Finally, the back of the bottom of the cages has a fully modeled human face that does not correspond to any character from Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

In Super Mario Sunshine, if Mario stands under the crane in Ricco Harbor and keeps jumping as the crane descends, it will push him through the floor, making him land in the water out of bounds (top left). Then, swimming a short distance will deposit Mario on ground under the stage, from where he can jump onto the seafloor (top right).
This allows Mario to run around on the seafloor without water physics applying to him (bottom). He will be able to use the FLUDD to spray water and otherwise move normally until touching the water surface again. Running around underwater gives Mario’s footsteps a splash effect, similar to running in shallow water.
In Super Mario Bros., Mario will always defeat enemies that can be defeated by jumping if he is moving downwards, even if the enemy is slightly above him at the moment of contact. Here, Mario falls alongside a Goomba (top: regular speed, bottom: slowed down); even though the Goomba falls slower and Mario’s feet are completely below the Goomba when they touch, the game behaves as though Mario had just stomped the Goomba from above.
In Mario Kart Wii, the characters in the audience on certain tracks (shown here on Peach Beach) are animated by grouping many vertices across several models into a unit and then moving that unit back and forth. The unique aspect of this is that a single character can have parts belonging to two different units, giving the illusion of more complex movement.
Note how there are two motions in the image: the three characters on the left sway in one rhythm, while the four on the right sway in a different rhythm. However, the second Hammer Bro’s arm is grouped with the left group (note it following the movement of the green Shy Guy) while the rest of him is with the right group. This lets the Hammer Bro appear to pump his fist in the air while adding no additional animation data.
