In Luigi’s Mansion 3, after defeating Amadeus Wolfgeist, the cutscene for obtaining the elevator button to the 6th floor can sometimes be obscured by heavy smoke that seems to appear instantaneously upon collecting the button. This is actually the smoke used for the effect of breaking the piano during the battle; however, a glitch causes it to reappear during the cutscene despite the battle being over.

Usually, in Paper Mario, all NPCs will be animated at all times, having an idle animation for the occasions where they are not performing any action. However, during the first battle against Jr. Troopa in the Prologue, when Goompa is talking to Mario, Jr. Troopa will be completely motionless until Goompa stops talking. After this, he will resume his normal idle animation.
In Super Mario Bros., pressing Left and Right simultaneously will make Mario walk backwards. This is not possible on original NES hardware due to the D-Pad’s design not allowing two opposite directions to be pressed at the same time; however, the Nintendo Switch Online version makes it possible due to the Switch’s Joy-Cons having separate directional buttons.
This allows a glitch to happen on the Switch version that is not possible on the NES version: by jumping up a staircase while walking backwards, Mario moves without scrolling the camera, letting him touch the right edge of the screen. If he touches the end-of-level flagpole while that close to the edge, instead of completing the level, he will hang on to the flagpole indefinitely, softlocking the game.
The data for Super Mario Galaxy contains an unused Spiny enemy that was intended to appear underwater. The top left image is its appearance while standing still, while the others are its animations. While some animations seem to be intact, others are unfinished, resulting in the model moving around in a chaotic manner.

In Super Mario World, if Mario uses a Lakitu’s Cloud while riding Yoshi, Yoshi’s head will disappear every time Mario changes directions. Note that this applies only to Yoshi’s head, as his lower half is still partially visible under the cloud.
