In Super Mario 64, it is possible to make Mario go through a door while dead. If Mario receives lethal damage at the same time as he approaches a door, he will first go through the door despite having 0 health remaining, and then die.

Left: a panel from a 1999 Mario Party manga, depicting Toad, Mario, Princess Peach and Donkey Kong in a more realistic style; captioned “Mario Party USA”.
Right: Toad’s pose and exclamation “Oh my God!” may be a reference to the 1989-1992 Stardust Crusaders manga in the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga series, where Joseph Joestar exclaims “Oh! My! God!” with a similar pose and expression.

In Super Mario Odyssey, Bowser wears a wedding outfit for the vast majority of the game. From the intro until the final boss battle, Bowser is seen five times in separate locations, always dressed in a tuxedo and wearing shoes. The top picture shows the soles of Bowser’s shoes; as you can see, these are shaped like Mario’s shoes.
However, several spots in the game that Mario visits feature Bowser’s footprints that could not have been left by Bowser’s shoes. The bottom picture shows these footprints in the Sand Kingdom, one of the locations where Bowser is seen wearing shoes when Mario arrives. This seems to imply that Bowser has taken his shoes off to walk around the different locations, but then always put them back on before confronting Mario.
