Top: in a cave in the Bone-Dry Dunes track in Mario Kart 8/Deluxe, vases with pixel designs can be found in a corner.

Bottom: here is the texture used for the vases, extracted from the game’s files. It depicts various sprites from Super Mario Bros., including Koopa Troopas, Bowser’s fire, horsehair plants (the name the tree-like plants are given in the game’s manual), Goombas, Hammer Bros. and coins.

In Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, the locked entrance to Shroob Castle can be bypassed by entering the Bros. Ball state and then rolling through a seam between the door and the wall in the manner depicted. Although theoretically, this skips more than half the game, the castle contains puzzles that require the use of moves learned in the areas skipped this way, making the trick unviable in practice.

In Super Mario 64, entering the Tower of the Wing Cap secret course requires Mario to stand on the sun carpet in the castle lobby and look upwards while in first-person view. However, the code checks both of these conditions separately. Thus, it is possible to first look up at the ceiling while not on the carpet, satisfying the first condition, and then enter first-person view on the carpet and not look up. Despite not actually doing both simultaneously, the code will still send Mario to the secret course.
