U/Deluxe, if a Baby Yoshi is taken to Level Frosted Glacier-Ghost House and then thrown off screen in the vertically shifting room in the manner depicted, the Baby Yoshi will get stuck in mid-air and move with the room, periodically coming back up (watch the bottom right corner of the screen).

Unused “Desert Cave” background found in the data of New Super Mario Bros. U. This was likely dropped due to using a much darker and more realistic texture than the game’s other backgrounds and being deemed unfitting of the art style.

The Stone-Eye statues seen in New Super Mario Bros. U/Deluxe have a lower part consisting of a dark rectangular column that is always hidden below sand or behind walls in-game. However, in several unused levels found in the game’s data, the Stone-Eyes are positioned in such a way that the hidden part is visible. The bottom footage shows that Stone-Eyes were intended to be used even outside desert levels, as well.

Unused “Yoshi” variation of the forest stage music found in the data of New Super Mario Bros. U. In the finished version, no Yoshis appear in any forest levels, making this variation impossible to hear in-game.
