There is an extra 101st banana available for Diddy Kong in Jungle Japes in Donkey Kong 64. It is floating slightly below the ground in the mine area. If it is obtained by clipping out of bounds, it does count as a unique banana, but the counter is programmed to not go above 100 if it is obtained after the 100 regular bananas.

Wario Blast Featuring Bomberman contains an extra mode that is only accessible through the use of a password that is never revealed in-game and requires outside information, like a guide, to obtain. If the password 6565 is entered (to play as Wario; 5656 to play as Bomberman instead), the secret “The Battle” mode will start. In this mode, the player character starts out with all power-ups (as seen in the footage with Wario riding a motorbike, the final power-up), and the goal is to defeat endlessly respawning computer opponents for a high score.

In New Super Mario Bros., World 7-A contains the game’s only appearance of Squigglers, juvenile Wigglers (top). Squigglers are unique among the game’s enemies in that instead of being fully modeled or fully sprited, their heads are modeled while their body segments are sprites. Thus, the model for the Squiggler consists only of its head (bottom).

Cranky Kong’s name is based on his major character trait of being cranky; however, there is an additional visual pun related to that name.
