On October 23rd 2015, less than a month before the release of Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash, Nintendo published a set of prerelease screenshots for the game. In one of these screenshots, a Toad in the background seems to be missing his eyes.

In Mario Party 7, a dummied-out debug mode containing a movement test room can still be accessed by modifying addresses in the game’s memory. Within the test room, if Luigi is present, his model will deform when the room is exited. This happens only to Luigi and not to any of the other 11 characters.

In Super Mario Galaxy, large bodies of water have a wave effect on their surface. However, this effect only covers a small, square area around Mario. In the top image, we can see the boundary between the wavy, refractive water and the rest of the water, which simply has a wave texture applied to it without actually moving. In the bottom image, by disabling the refraction and replacing it with a solid color, we can see how much area around Mario the effect covers.

In the main menu of Donkey Kong Barrel Blast, selecting Candy’s Challenges shows a scene of Candy Kong writing something on a clipboard in front of a group of characters. Looking over Candy Kong’s shoulder, we can see a sample of her handwriting.
