The first area of Paper Mario: Color Splash is called Ruddy Road in the English version of the game. The German version improves upon that name with a pun that seemed to have slipped past the English localization team: the red paper circles on the road look like pepperoni, so the German name is “Papieroni-Pfad”, which translates to “Paperoni Path”.

The layout of the tiles indicates that it may have displayed an image at some point in development, but the graphics had been overwritten since that point.

In the character selection menu of Mario Kart Wii, Toadette is standing with her arms behind her back. If the camera is positioned to view her from the other side, we can see that the model’s arms are bent in an incorrect manner, creating an unnatural-looking crease.

In Super Mario Galaxy 2, the penguins’ eyes exhibit a strange property where they become darker the brighter lit the rest of the penguin is. Here is an example of a penguin under normal lighting and under brighter lighting.

In Mario Party 5, there are barely readable labels under the game pieces during the character selection for the Card Party bonus game. However, looking very closely, you can see that the Wario and Waluigi pieces have been swapped.
