Mipmapping in Super Mario Sunshine. Many textures in the game use 5 different sizes, ranging from 128x128 to 8x8 pixels, that are loaded dynamically depending on their distance from the camera and blended together. Replacing the differently sized images of the ground texture with distinct textures, we can see the transitions clearly.

International and Japanese title screens for Donkey Kong Country. The international screen uses 16 colors per 8x8 tile, while the Japanese one uses a 256-color image.
