Officially licensed vibrating Chain Chomp toy from Japan. The toy is both sound- and motion-activated; while here, the toy begins to vibrate when the presenter claps his hands, it can also be activated by a person passing in proximity to it.

In Super Paper Mario, all Pixls have a special animation for sleeping, activated when the player makes no input for over a minute. Here are all the Pixls in their sleeping states; note that Tippi and Tiptron land on the player character’s head to sleep.

In the Sand Spiral Galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy, a red Toad can be encountered. The only Toads that are seen in Super Mario Galaxy outside of the Peach’s Castle area are the Toad Brigade, which explicitly follow Mario around in their Starshroom spaceships. Since the Toad Brigade includes only one red Toad, being Captain Toad, this Toad is likely meant to be Captain Toad, appearing here without his backpack and headlamp due to some developer oversight. If this is the case, then this is the only instance where Captain Toad has been seen without his gear in any official media.

In Chapter 4 of Paper Mario, four boxes inside the Shy Guy’s Toy Box must be hit in the correct order to proceed. This order is yellow, green, red, blue; it is communicated through a note that can be taken to a Toad Town resident to be translated, and through the order of the Shy Guys in the battle that drops the note (top).
The order is identical to the order of the Switch Palaces in Super Mario World (shown here are the level lists from the Super Mario Advance 2 version; note the world numbers on the left and the switch palaces indicated with arrows). While this could be a coincidence, Paper Mario contains enough other references to Super Mario World that this could be deliberate.

In Super Mario 64, if Mario is hit by Bowser and then positions himself inside Bowser while he is still blinking from the damage taken, Bowser will turn around in place while Mario will continue blinking, being immune to damage. This will continue indefinitely until Mario moves out of Bowser, whereupon the battle will resume normally.
