In Super Mario World, it is possible to use Cape Mario to glide across Wigglers and Goombas in Forest of Illusion 1 in such a way that only one Wiggler is on screen at a time, allowing the other one to reset from angry to normal. This enables Mario to bounce off of the enemies and gain 1-Ups indefinitely. However, the pop-ups for the lives generated off of Wigglers in this manner are glitched and, after a regular 1-Up and 2-Up display, will first display a scrambled 5-Up and then start displaying random graphical tiles.

In the Good Egg Galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy, there is a planetoid that, when landed on, superimposes a blue sky over the galaxy’s regular skybox. This planetoid is visited only in the galaxy’s third mission; however, if it is visited while Dino Piranha is being fought in the first mission (possible only through cheats), it is revealed that the blue sky interacts in a unique way with Dino Piranha, producing a striking visual effect of him appearing as a silhouette illuminated by the Power Star light marker.

In Big Boo’s Haunt in Super Mario 64, if Mario clips through the bottom of the entrance platform of the merry-go-round and exits through the door while being partially below the floor, Mario will immediately die. During this, the camera moves far away, viewing Mario from below briefly as the screen fades out.

This is due to the floor below the door being part of the merry-go-round and still moving Mario as he goes through the door, resulting in him being briefly out of bounds, killing him. Standing on a moving platform while going through any door in the game could theoretically result in this happening; however, this is the only scenario where a moving platform is actually next to a door.
