Top: when the Chilean Club Nintendo magazine first began publishing in 1992, the section where the editor asked for the readers to send in letters had a hand-drawn illustration of Mario holding a quill next to an inkwell.
Bottom: however, starting with 1998, to reflect the changing times and prevalent means of communication, this was replaced with a 3D render of Mario’s hands typing on a keyboard.

Close-up of the rare Mario and Luigi statues from Animal Crossing for the GameCube. The regular way to obtain them is via a code distributed by Nintendo Power; however, alternate ways of obtaining them are available for those without access to the magazine. Very rarely, a villager may bury a Mario statue somewhere and post about it on the bulletin board; while the Luigi statue may be sold at Crazy Redd’s store.

Top left: in Tall, Tall Mountain in Super Mario 64, there is a chance that one of the Goombas near the beginning of the course will become stuck at the edge of the water in an animation loop consisting of short hops. The Goomba is unable to break free from this loop and continue hopping indefinitely.
Top right: if Mario punches the Goomba in this state, instead of entering its hurt animation and then releasing a coin, the Goomba will simply disappear.
Bottom: this is due to the water of the river clipping slightly into the ground (note the triangle cutting into the riverbank) in such a way that it creates a small area where the Goomba constantly oscillates between being in water and on ground, resulting in the nonstandard behaviors.

Artwork of Mario dressed as Luke Skywalker and Luigi as Darth Vader
from the Star Wars films shown in a comedy segment of an official 1997
Satellaview broadcast. The Satellaview was a
Japan-only add-on for the Super Famicom that allowed it to receive
satellite transmissions; while it is most commonly known for featuring
games, it also offered shows that had live audio alongside a slideshow
of pictures.
