In Super Smash Bros. for 3DS, a glitch allows Bowser to execute an extremely slow Flying Slam attack. If Bowser uses a Super Leaf, then hovers in midair next to an enemy and uses his side special, the Flying Slam, the attack will be orders of magnitude slower than normal. Until they hit the ground (which, depending on starting height, may be up to a minute later) neither Bowser nor the opponent are able to perform any moves, locking them in this state.

The Mario statue at the Nintendo Tokyo store features a detail on his clothing that is completely new and has been absent from all his other depictions: a star pattern on the buttons of his overalls. Even Super Mario Odyssey, which is to date the game where Mario has had the most detail in his model, gives him completely smooth buttons.

In Super Mario Party, after each minigame that is won by a group of 2 or 3 players, or each Co-Op minigame, the players are given the chance to do a high-five. This is done by swinging around the Joy-Con. If one of the players prepares for it but another does not, this will result in their character being “left hanging”, which will make the character assume an annoyed pose and make a unique sound.

Here are the annoyed sounds of all the characters. In order: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Wario, Waluigi, Yoshi, Rosalina, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Bowser, Goomba, Shy Guy, Koopa Troopa, Monty Mole, Bowser Jr., Boo, Hammer Bro., Dry Bones, Pom Pom.

On the World 4 map in New Super Mario Bros., whenever Mario takes the unlockable path between W4-1 and the Green Mushroom House, he will walk backwards on the left portion of the path, changing his walking direction at the corner. This is the only path in the game this happens on.

In Super Mario World, a glitch can result in the goal tape at the end of the level temporarily despawning. Here is one of the scenarios where it can happen:

Left: in the Donut Secret 2 level, enter while riding a Blue Yoshi and have him eat the Yellow Koopa near the end of the level. This will allow him to fly, so fly diagonally upwards until hitting the right edge of the level.

Right: upon falling down, spit out the Koopa shell. It should display as a jumble of graphics including Cheep Cheep and Key sprites. While it is on screen, the goal tape is unloaded, allowing Mario and Yoshi to walk through without ending the level. After the glitched shell falls down the hole, the goal tape returns to its correct position.

In Super Mario Odyssey, there is a unique animation of Mario snapping his fingers when he is listening to the guitarist playing in the park in New Donk City. After the quest to recruit musicians is completed, there are no other places in the game where Mario would assume this animation and it can no longer be seen on the same save file.

One peculiarity of the animation is that Mario’s legs elongate when standing on the edge of the circular platform where the guitarist is playing (left: normal length, right: elongated). This was likely overlooked due to the animation being so limited in its use.
