Top: in Paper Mario, walking towards the spring in Luigi’s secret basement from the back and using Kooper’s field ability will result in Mario falling through the floor after bouncing off the spring. If Right and Down is held while Mario is falling, Luigi can be seen for a few frames in the darkness below the house. This is due to the game storing all characters that are not currently used at the coordinate system’s origin position, which happens to be below the room.
Bottom: After this, Mario will land on invisible ground outside the house, enabling all rooms to be viewed simultaneously. The house can be entered again by walking back into bounds.

Top: viewing the level Donut Plains 2 from Super Mario World in a level editor, we can see a Buzzy Beetle embedded in the wall on the far end of the main area. The Buzzy Beetle can not be seen in-game due to the screen not scrolling to its position; the level scrolls automatically and stops short of that location.
Bottom: editing the game’s code to remove the autoscroll feature from the level allows us to see the Buzzy Beetle; unfortunately, objects inside walls behave as though they were in mid-air, causing the Buzzy Beetle to immediately fall down below the death barrier.

One of the rarest Game Boy special editions in existence: this black Wario Game Boy was given away as a prize on the British children’s TV show “Ghost Train”. Only 25 of these were ever produced, and the whereabouts of 23 of them are currently unknown.

The music for the Galaxy Colosseum from Mario Kart Wii. The Galaxy Colosseum is a battle stage that, while present in the game’s files, was only available to be played during three online tournaments in June 2008, June 2009, and March 2010 respectively. After the final tournament, there is now no longer any means to access this stage in-game and hear the music without modifying the code.

In Super Mario Odyssey, all non-playable characters have an idle animation, except for one. This man sitting at a coffee table in front of the building in the northeast corner of New Donk City has absolutely no animation and is sitting perfectly still. Hitting him or jumping on him will make him briefly check his wristwatch before freezing in place again.
