Near the beginning of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, a Bandit runs into Mario, stealing half of his money (upper left). You can find him in his hideout and get the money back (upper right). However, if Mario has 0 coins on him at that point, Goombella will not mention any theft (lower left). In that scenario, the Bandit will note how Mario should have had money on him (lower right).

If Mario is standing in a precise spot between the paper and the bed, pressing A will bring up a cutscene and a sleep prompt at the same time. Pressing A again will send Mario to sleep, cutting off his partner’s dialogue.

In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Goombella mentions having shoes. Since her sprite uses the same graphics for her feet as all the other Goombas in the game (with only a color change applied), this seems to imply that all Goombas are in fact wearing shoes. However, in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Goombella’s trophy shows a new design for her that adds soles to her feet, differentiating them from other Goombas and making them look more like shoes. While this design decision was most likely a coincidence, there is a chance that it could have been an attempt to clear up the above quote.

This Yoshi in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is the only adult Yoshi character in the game outside the ones that briefly run across the screen during the Yoshi Kid’s Stampede attack, and is the only Yoshi besides the Yoshi Kid that talks. There is roughly a 1/16 chance of encountering him when taking the Excess Express after the completion of Chapter 6, resulting in only a small fraction of players seeing him.
