In Super Mario 64, the western wall of the central spire of Peach’s Castle has the unusual property that Mario will not fall off it as long as the player keeps tilting the Control Stick in any direction. Instead of falling off, Mario simply tilts at odd angles and keeps running at various speeds.

In Super Mario 64, MIPS the rabbit can be taken through the door leading to the entrance area of the basement using glitches*. If MIPS is then placed near a railing, he will rapidly oscillate in the manner depicted.

In Super Mario 64, the loading zone at the entrance to the pyramid in Shifting Sand Land does not fully cover the opening, resulting in Mario being able to stand on it if he lands in a corner. This is relatively easy to do by accident simply by making Mario jump when he is going down the short slide. If Mario moves away from the corner, he will touch the loading zone and instantly disappear.

In Super Mario 64, it is possible to make Mario go through a door while dead. If Mario receives lethal damage at the same time as he approaches a door, he will first go through the door despite having 0 health remaining, and then die.

The boot animation for the Japan-only Nintendo 64 Disk Drive features a spinning Nintendo 64 logo that, in regular intervals, undergoes changes in texture, size, and other attributes. In some of these cases, Mario appears and interacts with the logo for a few seconds. Here is one of the animations, where Mario is knocked back by the logo suddenly enlarging after being shrunk.

In Super Mario 64, performing a midair dive in Cool, Cool Mountain may result in Mario becoming stuck head-first in the snow. Diving in such a way that Mario hits the edge of a cliff will result in him going through it in the manner depicted.
