Easter egg in Super Mario Galaxy 2: the cloud used in the skybox of Starshine Beach Galaxy is actually taken from the Delfino Plaza skybox in Super Mario Sunshine and mirrored.
The low-resolution models of Pinna Park used in every area it can be seen from in Super Mario Sunshine. From top to bottom: Delfino Plaza, Bianco Hills, Ricco Harbor, Gelato Beach, Sirena Beach, Pianta Village.
The music that plays during the intro to Super Mario Sunshine, without the voices.
In Super Mario Sunshine, if you go to the last mission of Bianco Hills and balance on a rope while repeatedly using the Rocket Nozzle, then get hit by a Wind Spirit, Mario will shoot up to a great height. As he falls, he will sometimes stop in midair, looking broken. Pressing the Y button will resume the fall.
Low-resolution versions of Delfino Plaza, Sirena Beach, Gelato Beach and Ricco Harbor that can be seen across the water from Pinna Park in Super Mario Sunshine.
Unused “Yoshi” version of the music in Noki Bay from the files of Super Mario Sunshine.
Geographical oddity in Super Mario Sunshine: even though Bianco Hills and Pianta Village are both visible from other parts of the island and seem close to each other, you cannot see Bianco Hills from Pianta Village or Pianta Village from Bianco Hills at all; in fact, they do not exist in the model of Isle Delfino that is loaded in the respective other stage.
