In Super Mario World, making Yoshi swallow a Wiggler while running at full speed will cause Mario to take a hit or lose a life due to a glitch. To avoid this, approach and eat Wigglers very slowly. (Footage recorded by me in a SNES emulator.)

In Super Mario World, it is possible to defeat Ludwig von Koopa extremely easily with a Fire Flower the following way: after entering the boss room, press R in the middle of the room to make the screen scroll right until Ludwig comes into view. This will cause Ludwig’s hitbox to activate, allowing him to be hit by Mario’s fireballs, but not his AI, resulting in him standing there motionlessly until he dies. (Footage recorded by me in a SNES emulator.)

In Super Mario World, it’s possible to accidentally lose a life through a glitch by stepping on a falling springboard near a Bullet Bill Blaster. This is easiest to do in the Outrageous level in the Special Zone. (Footage recorded by me in a SNES emulator.)

In the Forest Fortress in Super Mario World, it is possible to defeat a Grinder by sliding into it using the Triangular Block. Since Grinders are not supposed to be defeated, its sprite becomes glitched as it falls offscreen. (Footage recorded by me from a SNES emulator.)

In Super Mario World, taking a Buzzy Beetle through the exit pipe in Donut Plains 2 results in the Buzzy Beetle’s shell assuming a grey color scheme. In addition, no matter how much time passes,
the Buzzy Beetle will never emerge from its shell again. (Footage recorded by me from a SNES emulator.)

In Super Mario World, grabbing a Mechakoopa in Bowser’s Castle and turning around while holding it will seemingly make Mario disappear for a few frames. However, looking closely, we can see that Mario’s feet and torso are still present during the transition, so it is only Mario’s head that is disappearing.
