In the NES version of Super Mario Bros. 3, holding a Spiny Shell while entering a Kuribo’s Shoe will result in the shoe displaying as a discoloration of Mario’s body.

In Super Mario Sunshine, jumping off Yoshi when his tongue is out results in a glitched state where Yoshi’s mouth is open and his saddle is floating above his back. In addition, Yoshi’s head can be controlled by moving the camera up and down.

Although Wario is almost always depicted with his mouth open and baring his teeth, there have been a few occasions where he could be seen with his mouth closed.
