In the files of Super Mario 3D World, a sixth character icon as well as a sixth logo appear alongside the images for the five playable characters. These files are not referenced by the game’s code, and their purpose is unknown.

In Mario Party 8, minigames played in first person still render the players’ characters behind the camera. One exception is the minigame Snipe for the Picking, where four copies of Player 1′s character are rendered instead.
