Due to a programming oversight, Star Doors in Super Mario 64 remain visible no matter how many rooms away they are from Mario, as long as they are on the same floor of the castle. This can be seen in the game by positioning Mario near a wall and pressing C-Up, then moving the camera through the wall.
In Paper Mario, Mario’s model appears in cutscenes he should not be present in, hidden from the view of the camera. In the beginning of the game, Mario is watching the earthquake from outside, and orbits the castle in space.

An unused level named “#2 MORTON’S PLAINS” can be found in the files of Super Mario World. It is a functional copy of Donut Plains 1 with glitched graphics. Top: a section of the level. Bottom: the background from the level, horizontally tileable.
