Top: before the final battle in Super Mario Odyssey, a wedding cake with cake toppers depicting Bowser and Peach can be seen in the background. However, approaching it activates the cutscene leading to the battle, after which the cake disappears. Thus, it is not possible to get close to the cake to see the toppers.
Middle and bottom: Extracting the model for the cake from the game’s files allows us to take a closer look at the figurines.

In Super Mario 3D World, a glitch in the final level of World 2, Bowser’s Bullet Bill Brigade, can result in Toad being rendered without his head. To achieve this, have Toad dive into a Cannon Box in his cat form from a specific angle. Toad will have no head and be invulnerable (top). This effect lasts even between room transitions, as Toad will still not have a head while fighting Boom Boom at the end of the stage (bottom). The model will display correctly once Toad touches the Goal Pole and finishes the level.

Top left: a Koopa Paratroopa render for New Super Mario Bros. 2.
Top right: a Gold Koopa Paratroopa render for New Super Mario Bros. 2. The render uses the exact same model with almost no changes outside of the coloring and shading of the shell and shoes; the only edit to the actual pose being that the Gold Koopa Paratroopa’s mouth is open slightly wider.
Bottom: an animated comparison between the renders. Note the mouth.

In Bowser’s Castle in Super Mario World, jumping on top of the number 6 in the second door choice corridor can result in two unintended outcomes.
Top: If Mario is ducking and facing left while on top of the blocks, Spin Jumping will result in him clipping into the inside of the 6, trapping him until time runs out.
Bottom: If Mario is facing right while Spin Jumping, he will instead instantly die.

In Super Mario Bros. 3, entering quicksand with a P-Wing item active will cause Mario’s flying animation to stop until a directional button is pressed. Flying straight upwards out of quicksand in this state results in Mario appearing as though he is levitating.
