A Super Mario variety blog.
Screenshots, photos, sprites, gifs, scans and more from all around the world of Super Mario Bros.

Selection of hats based on the designs of various Mario series characters.
In Super Mario Land 2, pausing the game while Mario is going down a pipe and exiting the level by pressing Select results in the game entering a glitched state where Mario will go down through the floor of the next level he enters. Usually, this results in Mario falling down into empty space, where he is trapped until time runs out. (Footage recorded by me from a GB emulator.)
In the Mario Kart DS kiosk demo version, a Chain Chomp item appears in the item roulette (slowed down here for visibility), but is impossible to actually obtain, as the roulette never stops on it. The Chain Chomp item is absent in the game’s final release. (Footage recorded by me from a DS emulator.)
Illustrations from a Japanese guide for Super Mario World in the style of the Super Mario-kun manga.
In Super Mario RPG, Blade, the Axem Rangers’ battleship, is always located behind Barrel Volcano, even after the Axem Rangers are defeated. In this footage, I disable the layer the volcano is drawn on while Mario is falling to show the battleship hidden behind it. (Footage recorded by me with a SNES emulator.)
The Japanese version of the ending cutscene of Western Land in Mario Party 2 plays out differently from the international version. While in all other versions, the player character and Bowser shoot each other with corks that can be seen flying through the air, the projectiles in the Japanese version are too small to be visible, which implies that the characters are using conventional bullets instead.
