A Super Mario variety blog.
Screenshots, photos, sprites, gifs, scans and more from all around the world of Super Mario Bros.

In most of his appearances, Yoshi’s mouth contains no teeth. These are the only two pieces of official art that show Yoshi with teeth.
Unused model of Yoshi with his mouth open from Mario Party, intended for a scrapped minigame called “Yoshi’s Tongue Meeting”.
Yoshi’s table from Mario Party 4 and the texture used for its surface.
Reconstructed official art of Big Yoshi from Super Mario RPG. The officially released version of this art was cut off, with the only sources for the full image being scans of various guides. I have attempted to edit and join these for an approximation of the original version of this artwork.
In Super Mario Sunshine, jumping off Yoshi when his tongue is out results in a glitched state where Yoshi’s mouth is open and his saddle is floating above his back. In addition, Yoshi’s head can be controlled by moving the camera up and down.
The model used for Yoshi in New Super Mario Bros. Wii has the regular Yoshi proportions that are used for his appearances as a standalone playable character, optimized for an upright pose. However, with Yoshi’s forward-leaning “rideable” pose in that game, his saddle clips into the spines on the back of his head. To hide this issue, all official art of New Super Mario Bros. Wii uses a modified Yoshi with the saddle moved closer to the tip of his tail.
